We're committed to making the order process as easy as possible.

Nearly all items we sell are in stock and are shipped the same day as ordered. All topographic maps are always in stock.

When you receive the second confirmation e-mail from us, it will provide details about when your order will be shipped. It will usually say "today". If you order after 1.00 p.m. ET it may say "tomorrow".

Quoted delivery times start from the day of shipment, which in some cases is not the day of ordering.

In all cases, the term "day" refers to business day (i.e., Monday to Friday, not including public holidays.)

Out of stock/Out of print

Some items may be sold out. There are also some items which we don't carry in stock because we don't get many orders (e.g., nautical charts of the Arctic), but we reasonably expect to be able to get copies quickly.

If we are out of stock of the requested item(s), we will indicate the expected time frame when we can ship the order (usually less than 5 days).

If you ordered several items and one is out of stock, we will usually hold shipping until the order is complete. If you prefer a partial shipment (what's available now to be shipped today, and what's out of stock to follow later), there may be an additional shipping charge.

Occasionally, an item will be out of print. This means that our supplier has run out of copies and we cannot get any more. In most cases, we know when an item is expected to be available again. We will ask if you would like to remain on back order for the item (so that it's shipped when available again), or if you would prefer to cancel your order.
