Canada Food Stats provides access to a broad spectrum of food statistics and indicators. Released once a year in a bilingual CD-ROM format, CFS is second-to-none in quality and coverage of every aspect of the food industry.

Canada Food Stats contains:

information on Canadian food available for per-capita consumption, nutrition, supply and demand, international trade, prices and more
data on the Canadian food industry, processing, economic indicators, labour, productivity and more
over 65 formatted reports and topical analyses
up to 40 years of data
an easy-to-search database with access to a broad spectrum of food statistics and indicators
basic definitions and detailed series titles to help explain the data.

Developed by Statistics Canada’s Agriculture Division in co-operation with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Canada Food Stats contains over 65 formatted reports with up to 40 years of data, along with topical analyses. There are also many data sets available for the provinces, along with selected quarterly and monthly statistics. Data presented in this CD-ROM are compiled from a wide variety of sources, from within Statistics Canada as well as other provincial and federal government departments, growers’ associations and marketing boards. Historical data goes back to 1960. This product will be an invaluable research tool for nutritionists, food industry analysts, and market researchers.

The CD-ROM provides users with easy access to large volumes of data, access to pre-defined tables or the ability to query the database and create unique tabulations.

Note: with the release of the June 2007 CD-ROM, Canada Food Stats became an annual title. Previously, it was updated twice a year in June and November to include new and revised estimates of indicators for the most current year.
