Published quarterly,
Energy Prices and Taxes is a unique compendium of recent energy price
and tax information for the major markets of the world including the Canadian
market. Each issue includes:
- an article summarising recent energy price developments,
- a section providing data on import and export costs for
crude, various oil products, natural gas, LNG, steam coal, and coking coal;
- a section providing energy end-use prices in OECD countries;
and
- a section providing energy end-use prices in selected
non-OECD countries.
Prices and tax data is provided in national currencies and US
dollars. End-use products covered include heavy fuel oil, light fuel oil,
automotive diesel, gasoline, natural gas, coal, and electricity. Prices are
provided for industry, households, and electricity generation, and data goes
back as far as 1980. Every issue includes full notes on sources and methods and
a description of price mechanisms in each country. The data system responds to
the need identified by International Energy Agency (IEA) Energy Ministers for
improved information on national and international energy markets and attempts
to meet the requirements of those involved in international energy
issues.
