Please note: the "Safety" booklet was removed from the Kit in April 2010 because Ottawa deemed it to be outdated. The other 1997 booklets included in the Nobody's Perfect Parent Resource Kit make reference to the "Safety" booklet, but it is no longer included in parent kit. According to the Public Health Agency of Canada website, the parent materials are currently under revision.

The Nobody's Perfect Parent Resource Kit consists of five informative books discussing issues surrounding parenting, child behaviour, children's safety, and the development of the child's body and mind. The Kit also contains a poster format growth chart, a development chart, and two emergency telephone number stickers.

  • Body: book on growth, health and illness
  • Mind: book on thinking, feeling and playing
  • Behaviour: book for helping kids to learn to behave and solving common behaviour problems
  • Parents: book on helping yourself, finding help, and feeling good about what you do
  • Growth chart
  • Development chart
  • Emergency telephone number stickers

It is a culturally sensitive program designed to meet the needs of parents who are young, single, low-income, who may have limited education, or who are geographically, culturally or socially isolated.
