The Forests of Canada

The Forests of Canada is a visual celebration of the continuing relationship that Canadians have with forests. It describes Canada’s forests in broad but comprehensive terms, with chapters devoted to each of the eight general forest types and an additional chapter on urban forests. The outstanding colour photography commissioned for the publication creates a pictoral narrative paralleling the text.

Features:
  • more than 150 high-quality colour photographs depicting the composition, species associations, timber and non-timber uses, and visual beauty of Canada’s forests
  • colour satellite maps showing the location of forest types across Canada
  • information and statistics describing forest composition, forest ecology, characteristic wildlife species, and Canadian forest management practices
  • overview of Canada’s urban forests
