| 17 March 2004 Recently the need to protect, preserve and provide for the fair use of indigenous intellectual property - traditional knowledge - entered the domestic and international debate on intellectual property rights. Of particular concern to indigenous peoples has been the unlicensed use of non-indigenous groups, such as corporations, of traditional knowledge that has been developed over centuries. This paper looks at why tradtional knowledge should be protected, how it should be protected, limitations of intellectual property rights, and international initiatives to proect traditional knowledge. |

| 22 January 2003 Reconciling Aboriginal rights and the sovereignty of the Crown is one of the challenges that Canada must face over the coming decades.
