Amendments included in the 2011 edition include:
- Significant amendments to the Education Act, including:
- Bill 173 "Better Tomorrow for Ontario Act (Budget
Measures,) 2011" (Schedule 10). This legislation came into effect May 12, 2011
and extends the boards mandate regarding the operation of extended day programs
for junior kindergarten and kindergarten pupils to include third party programs
and regulation thereof, including the delegation of a principal's authority
under Part XIII (Behaviour, Discipline and Safety) to early childhood educators
in the extended day program.
- Bill 110 "Good Government Act, 2011". Schedule 3
of this legislation, which came into effect March 30, 2011, clarifies details
regarding the delivery of French-Language programs for English pupils,
including a reservation allowing the Minister to impose terms and conditions on
parental permission.
- O. Reg. 400/98 "Tax matters Tax Rates for
School Purposes" was amended to introduce new 2011 Tax Rates for Business
Properties in Municipalities, Residential Properties, as well as for property
in the Farm Property class and Managed Forests Property class.
- O. Reg. 224/10 "Full Day Junior Kindergarten and
Kindergarten" This regulation provides details regarding the
implementation of the full-day early learning programs for four and five-year
olds that commenced in 2010, including a table identifying each school and the
year in which it will begin offering the full day program.
- O. Reg. 234/10 "Principal and Vice-Principal
Performance Appraisal" This regulation applies to performance appraisals
of principals and vice-principals conducted under Part XI.1 of the Act, and
includes details regarding the five year evaluation cycle, the review and
rating process and the duties and powers of the positions.
- O. Reg. 221/11 "Extended Day and Third Party Programs"
This regulation is reproduced in an August 2011 Special Legislative
Supplement which is included with the 2011 edition.

4, 2011 (Ontario Gazette 144:23). The federal legislation is current to June 8,
