Description:

Description of last year's 2011 edition:

The Occupational Health and Safety Act: Quick Reference, 2011 Edition helps you make sense of the OH&S Act and Regulations – quickly and easily. Be prepared, make decisions with confidence and ensure your business complies with the sections of the OH&S Act and Regulations that are of importance to the success of your organization.

Comprised of two sections, part one of the Occupational Health and Safety Act: Quick Reference features more than 20 key compliance issues that are identified, defined, cross-referenced and accompanied by a legal compliance checklist. Part two contains the full text of the OH&S Act and key Regulations.

The perfect resource for all health and safety issues, the Occupational Health and Safety Act: Quick Reference addresses every major component of the Act and Regulations, "in plain English." It's like having an OH&S expert on hand guiding you every step of the way. Each chapter contains:
  • Simple, clearly worded definitions
  • An OH&S expert's complete overview in "layman's terms"
  • A comprehensive table alphabetically listing all the requirements and the exact page numbers where you can find the full text version
  • Step-by-step compliance checklists to ensure you've covered all the bases
  • Plus, International Labour Organization (ILO) guidelines to help you go beyond local requirements and meet international standards.
New in the 2011 edition:
  • Bill 168, amending the Act with respect to workplace violence and harassment.
  • Amendments to the regulations with respect to designated substances, control of exposure to biological and chemical elements, construction projects and needle safety.
  • Updated list of OH&S Resources and Index.
The legislation cited in this edition is current to Ontario Gazette vol. 143:42 (October 16, 2010).
