| Canada's International Balance of Payments and International
Investment Position describes the statistical system used to produce
Canada's balance of international payments and international investment
position, including the concepts, sources, methods and products. It presents
the statistical system for these external accounts in three parts. The first
two parts describe the systems for the balance of payments statement and the
international investment position statement. The third part outlines the
relationship between the balance of payments system and the international
investment statistical system. Appendices provide a historical summary of
statistics of both statements as well as the exchange rates of the Canadian
dollar, and a chronology of events that have affected Canada's external
