Administrative Writing

Administrative Writing teaches wording, organization, and style. It is part of the English as a second language program of the Public Service Commission of Canada's Language Training Program Branch. Some practice is provided on addresses, formats, abbreviations, etc., but the major focus is on the discourse of administrative correspondence.

The objectives are:
  • to develop word-order skills
  • to develop a functional repertoire of appropriate writing gambits
  • to develop self-editing and rewriting skills
  • to provide wide-ranging memos and letter writing activities
Administrative Writing is intended for classroom use but may also be useful for independent study.
