Fighting at Restigouche

The 1760 battle which took place in Chaleur Bay was the final thrust which resulted in the end of the Seven Years' War - and the defeat of the French. Archaeological expeditions have turned up remnants of this battle on the Restigouche River, including the frigate Machault. Fighting at Restigouche examines the structure of the vessels involved, the daily lives of the sailors aboard them, and provides a close look at Canada's maritime heritage.
