Where’s Mom’s Hair?: A Family’s Journey Through Cancer

A family faces Mom’s cancer and medical treatments with a huge hair shaving party. Touching and humorous black and white photographs follow Mom (Debbie) as she and her family go through each step of fighting cancer. This personal journey highlights the kinds of questions children have when a loved one gets cancer in a way that provides clear and non-frightening answers. A perfect book to help parents, family, friends, teachers, counsellors and all adults assist children in understanding what is happening during treatments. Where’s Mom’s Hair? A Family's Journey Through Cancer
Debbie is a primary and Early Literacy teacher in Elora, Ontario. Debbie and her family quickly discovered a need for a book that would clearly lay out the steps and effects of chemotherapy with gentle humour and compassion. Her husband Shawn and sons Haydn and Emmett (who were 9 and 8 at the time) were instrumental in inspiring and creating this book.
