Health Reports - Supplement: Background Papers on the Canadian Health Measures Survey, Vol. 18 |
| The Statistics Canada series of annual supplements to Health Reports addresses a different theme each issue.
Subscribers to Health Reports receive the supplement report as part of
their subscription service. This years supplement presents background papers on the Canadian Health Measures Survey, containing five articles explaining key facets of the CHMS. These articles cover the rationale and background of the survey; the pre-test conducted in the fall of 2004; the sampling strategy; the ethical, legal and social issues involved in a direct measures survey; and the operations and logistics of the mobile clinics. The CHMS addresses important data gaps and limitations in current health information by collecting directly measured indicators of health and wellness from a representative sample of about 5,000 Canadians between the ages of 6 and 79. Previous issues of the Supplement were titled How Healthy Are Canadians. Published by Statistics Canada 2007. Effective April 24, 2006, the PDF version of this title can be downloaded free of charge from Statistics Canadas website: http://www.statcan.ca/start.html. Or, you may choose to purchase the book: |
